Unlike the commonly reared dogs Fennecs are generally not afraid of strangers and are friendly to everyone. They may bother other pets in the household, if only because fennec foxes will want to play with them all the time.

In case one is planning to purchase a fennec fox for rearing two very important points have to remember. Firstly that the rearing of Fennec foxes should be legal in the country the owner lives in, also the prospective owner   should make sure of an available veterinarian who will treat fennec foxes. They are quite hardy animals, but will require vaccination against standard canine diseases and medical care similar to a dog. Raising food for your exotic pet can save you money and end those last minute trips to the pet store. Raising mealworms is inexpensive, fun, and easy to do.
